T.H.A.N.K.S. – To the One’s Not Sure

You weren’t cruel —
just careful.
You didn’t play —
you paused.
And in a world that rushes through feelings,
you gave yours time… and space… and cause.

You could’ve stayed just to be kind,
Built illusions and blurred the lines.
But instead, you stood in gentle truth —
A rare grace, especially in youth.

It wasn’t easy to walk away,
And still, you chose the honest way.
Your silence wasn’t rejection —
It was your version of protection.

You didn’t give me love untrue.
And that — in time — became my view.
You taught me love’s not just desire…
But choosing not to light a fire
if you’re unsure how to keep it warm.

You showed me what restraint can mean —
Not cold… just rooted, deep, unseen.
And I, too, grew from where we paused:
Not every bond was meant because.

I learned that love is not a race.
It’s not a need to chase or chase.
It’s something whole that starts inside —
And sometimes walks away with pride.

So thank you —
not just for what you didn’t give,
but for what you didn’t fake.
That clarity shaped my spirit’s frame,
Taught me to love… and not just ache.

And if your heart still wanders slow,
I hope you meet a love that knows —
Not forced, not rushed, not laced with doubt,
But one that grows… from the inside out.

Not every love is here to stay.
Some arrive to teach us how to love —
by walking away, the right way.
